Henderson motorcycles parts

Henderson Motorcycle parts, for Vintage models Henderson Deluxe, KJ and KL.Henderson was a manufacturer of 4-cylinder motorcycles from 1912 until 1931. They were the largest and fastest motorcycles of their time and appealed to both sport riders and police departments. Police favored them for traffic patrol because they were faster than anything else on the roads. The company began during the golden age of motorcycling and ended during the Great Depression.

Excelsior motorcycle parts


Excelsior motorcycles were produced between 1896 and 1965. The Excelsior motorcycle parts factory produced a wide range of machines with engines from most major manufacturers. In the early years they used Minerva, De Dion, MMC and possibly a Condor 850cc single. After the Great War the company was taken over by R. Walker & Sons and moved from Coventry to Tysley, Birmingham, next door to AKD, where they continued building motorcycles with power units by Blackburne, JAP and Villiers. During the interwar period they obtained considerable competition success, particularly with perhaps their most famous model, the Manxman, introduced in 1935 and available in capacities of 246cc and 349cc.

The Excelsior-Henderson Motorcycle Company was founded in the early 1990s in Burnsville, Minnesota. Inspired by the design of old bikes such as the Henderson DeluXe Four, Daniel Hanlon and a group of enthusiasts made a valiant attempt to revive an American motorcycle brand. In 1998, they opened the factory in Belle Plaine capable of manufacturing 10,000 motorcycles per year. The aim was quite ambitious – to build a proprietary OEM motorbike, a heavy and powerful cruiser. And they did it, having invested a hundred million dollars approximately. It was the Super X model, and the experts considered it as one of the fastest in its class.

Antique race motorcycle


The Geloman Motorcycle Club will host a two-day classic event at Sellicks Beach on February 18 and 19 featuring competitors from every mainland Australian state. A field of 110 motorcycles manufactured before 1963 have entered to race across five classes, under 125cc through to 501cc – 1300cc. Sidecar races will also be held.

The club, the Antique race motorcycle club in South Australia, began beach racing in the 1920s and held annual Sellicks Beach Speed Trials in summer through to 1953. Re-enactments were held in 1986 and 1992 but regular races have not taken place on the beach for more than 60 years.

Motorcycle historians may remember Daytona Beach became famous for its beach racing. Daytona Beach Bike Week started as the Daytona 200 race on January 24, 1937, with the first race consisting of 3.2 miles on the beach and pavement.

Indian powerplus


The Indian Powerplus is a motorcycle that was built from 1916 to 1923 by the Hendee Manufacturing Company. Designed by Charles Gustafson, the Powerplus's engine was Indian's first flathead.

The Indian PowerPlus is an all-new modern design to complement the traditional Thunder Stroke motor used in its current large-displacement motorcycles. Let's take a first look at the PowerPlus engine. 1. The PowerPlus motor is a contemporary mate to the Thunder Stroke.

The new Indian PowerPlus V-twin engine is Indian Motorcycle’s most powerful engine yet. It will make its appearance in the all-new Indian Challenger.

Indian Motorcycle have developed a new engine called the PowerPlus and it is their most powerful mill yet. The American cruiser icon has unlocked a new level of performance as far as V-twin cruiser engines go. The PowerPlus engine is a 108-cubic-inch (1,769-cc), liquid-cooled, 60° V-twin that redlines at 6,500 rpm. Like the engine in the Scout, this one will also have an overhead cam and four valves per cylinder, but it is enhanced with more output and torque. These figures are impressive with a peak 122 hp at 5,500 rpm and 178 Nm at 3,800 rpm. Indian Motorcycle have also confirmed that the engine will be mated to a six-speed gearbox which will also feature an assist clutch to enable easier gear shifts. Furthermore, the engine will feature hydraulic valve-lash adjusters and cam-chain tensioners for easier maintenance.

Harley Davidson VL


 

At the end of the Great Depression, Harley-Davidson sold exclusive rights to the Sankyo Corporation to manufacture both Harley-Davidson motorcycles and spare parts in Japan.  As part of that agreement, Sankyo would continue to purchase motorcycles directly from Harley-Davidson until their factory was completed and ready for production.  It took Sankyo almost five years to complete their factory during which time Harley-Davidson sold them the VL pictured here for use by the Japanese Imperial Navy.

Harley Davidson VL introduced the new side-valve 40 hp, 74 cubic inch VL was in 1930 to replace the pocket-valve, inlet-over-exhaust engine in the old J model the company had been building saince 1911. Harley-Davidson boasted a number of improvements over the preceding model with the VL, but there were unfortunate teething problems that made themselves known just as the Great Depression was getting underway.

Harley advertisements of the time were quite ambitious in extolling the virtues of the VL, but early models had engines with a deficit of horsepower, a bad clutch, mufflers that clogged easily and frames that tended to break. William H. Davidson recalled a frantic trip made to New York in late 1929, when the factory team replaced mufflers, springs, valves and pistons on a team of new VLE models bought by the Buffalo Police Department. Police models included first-aid kit, a brass fire extinguisher and a handlebar crossbar that mounted a red light.
